Music Ministry at Christ Congregation
Karl comes to the Tri-State area from San Antonio, Texas, where he was the Music Director for Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was born and raised in Kilgore, Texas where his involvement with First Christian Church (Disciples Of Christ) provided a strong foundation and rich heritage of sacred music. Karl received his BM and MM from Texas State University, studying composition and conducting. He was an organ scholar at the Congregational Church of New Canaan (CT). In addition to his background in church music, Karl is a composer/music director/collaborative musician who is at home in both the worlds of musical theater and opera. Favorite productions include “My Fair Lady”, “Rigoletto”, “La Boheme”, “Fantasticks”, and “Into the Woods.” When not making music, Karl enjoys hiking with his dog, Arya. |
About our Choirs:
Christ Congregation is blessed to have both an active choir and a handbell choir. These choirs are entirely composed of hard-working volunteers from the congregation and are open to all who are interested in praise and worship regardless of their experience. These choirs rehearse and perform from September to May each year. Choir rehearsals are held in the sanctuary on Thursdays at 6 pm, and the Handbell choir rehearses directly afterward at 7 pm adjacent to the bible study room.
Worship Feedback Form:
To better understand the congregation's worship experience, our Music Minister has provided an online form where attendees can provide their feelings on the hymns sung, and overall musical experience. This form is anonymous and can be accessed here:
